The Geological Survey of Pakistan and United States Geological Survey decided to drill another borehole close to Khore Wah Gas Well No.1 of Union Texas. The second bore hole No.KHW-2 was drilled at distance of about 200 meter north east of Gas Well. Two coal beds of 0.95 m and 0.30 m were encountered at depths of 120.90 and 124.26 m respectively. The third borehole near Bano village was drilled on the recommendation of John San Fillipo of USGS to fill up the gap, to determine the extension of coal beds of Sonda West Coal field and to establish stratigraphic correlation. Six coal beds were encountered having thickness of 0.17-0.46 m at the depth from 101-137 m. |
